Getting Stoked

is a certain kind of high wherein you feel like you can do anything. This is a usual lingo that wahinos use to describe that feeling of unlimited power in your hands after riding a wave or two! You don’t even need drugs for it to happen, kids!
In a scientific perspective, this is an endorphin-serotonin-dopamine release combo! What the fuck are those? Those are called happy hormones. They are the reason why you feel so radiant, high, and excited to do more even after you’ve exercised, done yoga, or eaten a hearty meal!
Okay, enough nerdy talk.
So, what are you planning to do here and why did you start a blog?
This blog is going to be about three things I’m passionate about: surfing, fitness, and yoga; alongside these, would be raising awareness for eco-preservation.
Surf
On the surfing culture, I want to be able to share with you guys the STOKE that I felt when I first rode a wave. I want to help you find that feeling of ecstasy and excitement that you can only acquire away from the city and the constant stress around it. The feeling of just allowing yourself to be yourself without the shade, without the worries, without the baggage that you carry everyday. Basically, what I’m trying to describing is how it feels to #getstoked!
Fitness
Now, let’s talk about fitness. Fitness is not a goal, it’s not an achievement, not a one-time-thing. You can’t eat one healthy meal in the morning, workout in the afternoon, then eat a crapload of fastfood for post-workout and call that “a healthy day”. No, fitness is a lifestyle; it’s a way of life.
In this section, I will be unleashing my ‘inner coach’ to give you guys diet and food suggestions for the Filipino palette, workout regimen you could do to stay fit; all with a touch of Physiotherapy. Expect tips and lectures about the anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology of the body, and the WHY of every exercise. I don’t want you to be doing just cardio in the gym, dude! That shit don’t work!
Lift
Weightlifting is a department I’ve been into since 2012. To be honest, I was on and off at it because I quickly got frustrated for not getting and seeing results! I’m a hardgainer, by the way, and know a lot of you guys have the same question: “Why can’t I get big even though I eat a lot?!” or “Why can’t I get buff even if I’m working out 3-5x a week?!”.
You guys are going to be the focus of this weightlifting section: Hardgainers, Skinny Fat body types, or just overall skinny guys/girls who wants to get ripped af! I myself may be far from my personal body goal, but I’m damn sure that I have a system that works! If you’re interested, stay tuned!
Yoga
Namaste is most probably the first word that comes into your mind when you hear this. To me, yoga is synonymous to awareness. You become more aware of your body, your breathing, the way you move, how a joint feels, how a muscle contracts; yoga is about living and movement.
And no, yoga is not just for chicks and remove the stigma of it being too girly or not manly. Yoga is for everyone. Let me show you how much it can help with any sport, enrich any age group, and provide awesome benefits for your mind and body!
Putting all of that into perspective, I’m going to be pumping out content initially about my home-turf, Surf Town- La Union, especially that its surf season is coming up! Expect how-tos, where-to-gos, the lifestyle, the people, sumptuous food, and some personal insights on how to navigate, plan, enjoy, and experience the waves and tides outside the city life!
This is going to be a BIG ONE and I’m extremely excited to share with you guys the exhilarating experiences that I’ve had and that YOU are going to have when you get to try it yourselves! This blog will be about YOU and how YOU guys can maximize living the life that you have and try to #staystoked each step of the way!
Remember, we should always look at life and happiness as a journey and never a destination.
So as they say, come on over, paddle out and see you at the line-up!
Hey, you! Yeah, you!
Since you’ve come this far, I want your opinion! An insight!
What do you want to see and what are you expecting from this blog?
